How Video Surveys Work
A video survey is a live walkthrough of your home on your phone or tablet with a Movers & Co. estimator. Most surveys take about 15 to 30 minutes. They are a strong fit when you are short on time, need an evening or weekend slot, or live outside the area where we do in-home surveys.
We use an inventory tool built for us, by us. During the call, we see your rooms in real time, catalog what is moving, and build a clearer picture of volume and labor so your written hourly estimate is grounded in what is actually in the home.
Easy to Connect
When you book a video survey, we text you a secure link. Open it on your phone, join the session, and walk room by room with your estimator. You do not need to install a special app in most cases. Just a working camera, a stable connection, and a few minutes to show us the home.
While you walk, our inventory tool helps us identify items and estimate cubic footage so nothing important gets left off the inventory.

What Happens During Your Survey
Flip your camera so it points away from you. Your estimator will guide you room by room and ask what is packing, what is moving as-is, and what is staying behind.
For an accurate hourly estimate, we need to see everything that is coming with you. That includes bedrooms, living areas, kitchen, closets, and often-missed spots like the garage, basement, attic, shed, patio, and yard items.
Your estimator will ask questions and flag anything that affects time on move day (stairs, long carries, heavy pieces, tight access). Keep a notepad handy if you want to jot notes. If your connection drops, we may ask for a few follow-up photos or finish by phone while reviewing what we already captured.
Your Written Hourly Estimate
After the survey, we prepare your written hourly estimate and send it by email, typically within one business day. For local moves, that estimate shows the hourly rate, crew size, and minimum. The final bill is based on the hours worked at the rate you approved, plus any extras you asked for.
